Types allow you to organize your urls. For example, you can create a type for your affiliate urls and another type for your social urls. URL Types are optional but its a good way to group similar URLs together and reduce conflicts with existing URLS.
You may assign a base path to a URL Type and all URLS with the associated type will use the base path. For example, if you create a URL Type with the name “Affiliate URLs” and assign it a /go base path, every URL with the Type “Affiliate URLs” will have a /go base. Base paths are optional.
Base paths may only be composed of one segment. For example, a base path: out/referrals/ is not allowed.
